Each month, through exclusive industry interviews and special content, you’ll get to know a few of the most premier designer labels of the bridal industry; beginning with the world-renowned, Maggie Sottero!

Meet Sandy Milliken…

She is a sub-rep for Maggie Sottero Designs and is our personal resource for all things MAGGIE! We sat down with Sandy to ask her a few questions about her journey in the industry…
Where did your journey in the bridal industry first begin?
Sandy: “My cousin asked me to help her at the Dallas Apparel Mart for Market almost 20 years ago. Each market after that I would help put together the temp space and then her permanent showroom for bridal, accessories, and color gown – special occasion. I would assist during market for the buying process. I took it upon myself to learn about trends, fabrics, design and pattern process. I also loved learning about couture design and production on a larger scale. After working in several other professions while raising my son I joined the team at Bridal Boutique Lewisville. I LOVED working with brides for 4.5 years. I enjoyed assisting brides in expressing their bridal vision to bring out a true bridal glow in them. With my son off to college it was time to join my cousin full time assisting as sub-rep for Maggie Sottero Designs.”

Sandy: “I am a Mitchell girl all the way. It is a classic design with forward thinking elements. In a clean classic design, I find beauty in the architectural details.”

What is one piece of advice you have for the bride-to-be in search of the perfect wedding gown?

Sandy: “YOUR gut instinct is the best judge of the gown you should wear down the aisle. Make sure that it is YOU that you see in the mirror and not just a version of yourself, but the real YOU.”
